This is real life and not Championship manage

Re: Peterborough away this Saturday
Well Croe, I've never played Championship manager so I wouldn't know!

But on the basis that in recent years most PL teams that have played EL have suffered a loss of PL form after EL matches perhaps it is something we should consider.... would give the whole 'squad' a great experience and prepare them for the coming years when hopefully we will have a more meaningful European campaign and need a lot more players with experience.

But thanks for your view anyway.

Re: Peterborough away this Saturday
Teams don't do it because it wouldn't work

How would you sell it to a player? Oh you're only playing EL no matter how well you are playing and how badly the person in your shirt is playing in the PL...

and so on and so on and so on

What happens if you need to get a result against say Dortmund to progress?

and so on and so on and so on

Never forget when we had this lot in the league. Just after when we played Millwall at home and we were on a bit of a run.
They didn’t have under soil heating and I was emailing the local paper for weather updates.

Woody we played them 27th of March almost 2 months after Millwall.

Re: Peterborough away this Saturday
Croe - I agree... I did expand on it on the transfer thread and say that it would offer competition for places, if a player is performing better for the EL side than someone in the PL side then there could be movement and if there is a 'bigger' game in Europe in a week that we are playing, say, Watford at home then you play the better side in EL.

Anyway, just an idea to pass the time of day!

Last season was hilarious on here. Serious serious posts about Allardyce getting sacked after the game in NZ and then we go on to have best start to a season in donkey years.

Squad for P'boro will be strong as the 15 in Andorra won't be involved so the likes of Noble,Reid,Cresswell Adrian et al will all be featuring.

Peterborough's manager, Dave Robertson, is a massive Hammer and, in fact, was WHU's first ever matchday mascot in 1980.
